there are many ways of further disempowering the disempowered. a prisoner of jail or hospital pretty much loses all rights and dignities. but wait, now they also bear the label of criminal or mentally ill, and so we don’t even need to take anything they say very seriously. Another method: constantly associate them with some cause or another, and interpret their every move as secretly or unconsciously aimed towards that cause, and their every breath as an exploitation of a fabricated social context. And in a world that’s far from ordinary, instate an army of average Joes and their common sense to serve as thought police, and constantly symmetrically invert the truth so that the one who acknowledges the truth merely sounds as the inverse of the thought-police and nothing more. And another method: if one is out of favour with the herd, and everyone is the herd, you can cut off their funds, shun them, harass them on the street, and administer mob justice against them until they have succumbed to your standards of appropriate behaviour, speech, and thoughts.
