and if you have any problem with being attacked by mobs of them, they'll just switch back to manipulation. the end result is always the same: they must always outcast you and always police your every move. but they are free to switch to whatever context is necessary to accomplish these things.
you walk into a place you've never been before, and they will outcast you because they will use the context of everyone knowing who you are and spying on your life. and you walk into a place you've been to many times, and they will outcast you because they already know you there, and within a normal society where no one knows who you are and no one spies on your life and targets you as a society, there is no explanation why someone should have developed such strange behaviours and methods of psychological self-defence, and they have their eye on you. you start feeling too comfortable walking on the street, and they'll attack you in mobs because everyone everywhere knows who you are and spies on your life. you have some problem with this, and they will not let you walk on the street by means of various serious accusations regarding your character, or your supernatural ability to commit serious crimes by virtue of existing and being unlike those around you, and so if anything bad ever happens anywhere, it must be your fault, and thus you are not allowed to walk on the street for that reason (which will also divert attention from the fact that everyone everywhere seems to know who you are).
